Anthropogenic Resources

Case Study B

Case Study B (Aluminum) investigates the anthropogenic stocks and flows of aluminum in Austria using Material Flow Analysis. Through the implementation of data uncertainty and error propagation, consideration of “technical material qualities” as well as dynamic modeling approaches, the current status of MFA on Al will be extended. The focus is laid on the characterization of the anthropogenic stock analogous to primary resources (economic geology), with the identification of optimum access points for the recovery of Al as one of the major outcomes of this case study.
